Your home should be a place where you feel safe,relaxed, and happy. Your home is your refuge from the world, so it’s no surprise that the state of your home can have a big impact on your mood and mind. If your home is cluttered,messy, or just generally unorganized, it can lead to feelings of depression and anxiety.

HOW TO GET RID OF OF DEPRESSION IN YOUR HOME

If your home is making you feel depressed, there are a few things you can do to try to improve the situation. First take a look at your home and see if there are any areas that are particularly cluttered or messy. If so, try to declutter and organize those areas. This can help to reduce feelings of depression and anxiety.

Start by decluttering and getting rid of anything that’s bringing you down. Take a look at your living space and see what small or big changes you make to create a more positive and peaceful environment.

A messy environment can be incredibly depressing . so take some time to tidy up. then. take a look at the colors can have a significant impact on our moods.

MY STORY OF FINDING THE DEPRESSION HIDING IN MY HOME AND HOW I MADE IT LEAVE:

I started to notice my home was making me feel depressed. The walls were white, the floors were beige, and there was no natural light coming through. There wasn’t enough color. Walking in from a long hot day, I noticed my home was drab and colorless.

I knew I needed to make some changes, so I started by adding color to the walls. If your renting like me stick on wallpaper is a perfect idea for adding some personality to your walls. I added some plants and flowers, and bought some colorful wallpaper to give the walls some personality. Once I finished the walls I added some artwork for pops of color.

Now my home is bright and cheerful, and it makes me happy everytime I walk in the door.

When you’re able to identify what is making you feel a certain way and tackle it first hand is the first step to feeling better. Using your mind and home is a good way to start a journey of feeling better.

For instance, a study published in the journal, Mindfulness, found that people who were mindful when washing dishes—in other words they took the time to smell the soap and to take in the experience—reported a 27% reduction in nervousness, along with a 25% improvement in “mental inspiration.” What’s more, studies have found that having clean sheets and making your bed are associated with a better night’s rest.
